Metalder in widescreen. Metalder rules, final thoughts on the show coming when I'm done with that, but I've managed to watch 18/39 episodes over the course of… 24 hours? What the fuck.

    Some thoughts:
・practicing swordsman skills by hitting waves
    ・ムキムキマン
    ・sexy hair
    ・awesome miniatures and mini explosions
    ・sweet score
・not much action or anything, really
・when there is action, it's rather dull

This was a mess of a short film with the plot being about the evil villain giving a life lesson to his underlings.

There are so many bad guys with so many goofy names introduced with so many text captions

And it was great to see that not only in the terms of production it was…

The "movie" turned out to just be a 20 minute special shown at a Toei festival in 1987, but it's still fun tokusatsu in which the robot hero learns a cool fighting technique from a statue of Buddha.
